Images show the stunning condo fit for a king, the three bedroom unit covers 3,600sq ft and has gone for £3million less than the initial asking price as the condo was listed for £8.3million in February 2022.

Situated on 111 West 57th Street, New York USA this sees King Charles III grow his property portfolio, this will be the 24th home owned by his majesty in New York alone.

111 West 57th Street, also known as Steinway Tower, is a supertall residential skyscraper in the Midtown Manhattan neighbourhood of New York City.

The tower is the fourth-tallest building in the United States as of November 2022, as well as the thinnest skyscraper in the world with a width-to-height ratio of about 1:24.

Developed by JDS Development Group and Property Markets Group, it is situated along Billionaires’ Row on the northside of 57th Street near Sixth Avenue.

The main portion of the building is an 84-story, 1,428-foot (435-metre) tower designed by SHoP Architects and completed in 2021.

Preserved at the base is the 16-story Steinway Building (also Steinway Hall), a former Steinway & Sons store designed by Warren and Wetmore and completed in 1925, which originally carried the address 111 West 57th Street.

111 West 57th Street contains 60 luxury condominiums: 14 in Steinway Hall and 46 in the tower.

The residential tower has a glass facade with piers made of terracotta; its pinnacle contains setbacks on the southern side.

Steinway Hall, a New York City designated landmark, contains a facade made mostly of brick, limestone, and terracotta.

111 West 57th Street contains numerous resident amenities, housed mostly in the building’s base, as well as a large rotunda within Steinway Hall that is also a designated city landmark.

Amenities in the 91-story tower include a swimming pool with private cabanas, a fitness center, private dining room and golf simulator.

“An entity tied to King Charles III appears to be the latest buyer at the Billionaires’ Row tower developed by JDS Development and Property Markets Group — and the last to scoop up a unit in the landmarked Steinway Hall portion of the building, according to public records,” state reports

“A buyer under the moniker “His Majesty the King in Right of Canada” paid $6.6 million for Unit 11A, one of the supertall’s 14 residences located in the storied piano brand’s former flagship store and concert hall.

“The deed was signed by Robert McCubbing, the senior trade commissioner and director of trade and investment at the Consulate General of Canada in New York.

“King Charles III took over as the sovereign ruler of Canada, a constitutional monarchy and member of the British Commonwealth, upon the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.

“The three-bedroom apartment traded for more than $4 million off its initial asking price. The condo, which spans 3,600 square feet, hit the market for $10.8 million in February of 2022.

“Despite notching a string of discounts since sales launched in 2018, the supertall has snagged a number of pricey deals, including a penthouse sold for $53 million in October. The all-cash deal closed for $7 million less than the asking price listed in the building’s offering plan.

“Douglas Elliman’s Erin Boisson Aries and Thomas Aabo, who represented the buyer, declined to comment through a spokesperson.

“The apartment appears to be the latest addition to luxury apartments in the city tied to the Commonwealth. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth, TRD found 24 properties across New York owned by entities named with some variation of “Her Majesty the Queen.”

“Alongside the recent purchase, the crown owns several properties near the United Nations, including three units at International Plaza at 303 East 43rd Street, two at 309-321 East 49th Street and one at the Horizon at 415 East 37th Street.

“A 2015 sale at Zeckendorf Development’s 50 United Nations Plaza in the name of “Her Majesty The Queen In Right of New Zealand” sparked blowback from New Zealand’s Labour Party after it was revealed the nearly $8 million unit would be occupied by the New Zealand mission to the United Nations.

“Other holdings include a set of units on the Upper West Side, with the crown possessing three units at 107-113 West 89th Street, a condo at 103 West 89th Street and a unit 211 West 71st Street.

“On the east side, Commonwealth-related entities appeared to own five units at Evans Towers at 171 East 84th Street, four at Le Chambord at 350 East 72nd Street and two at the Wakefield at 525 East 80th Street.”
