FEAST your eyes on these captivating images of North Wales in a new book that leave you eager to explore the northern part of Wales.
One picture shows the famous kids character, Thomas the Tank Engine, at Berywn Station which was inspired by North Wales heritage railways. Other eye-catching photographs include Snowdonia’s Llyn Llydaw, Ogwen Falls in Llyn Ogwen, Idwal Falls in Cwm Idwal, Conwy Castle, Caernarfin Castle, Cricieth Castle, South Stack, Tryn Du, Watkin Path, Llandundo, The Giant’s Chair at Craflwyn, and Yr Eifl.
Covering the Principality of Wales’ northern half, this mesmerising photo-location guidebook reveals the beautiful landscapes, waterfalls, lakes, and mountains that the north of Wales offers.
The images have been revealed in the new book, Photographing North Wales by landscape photographer, Simon Kitchin.
“North Wales is a diverse place for outdoor photography and having lived and photographed here for nearly twenty years I never get bored of its beauty,” said Simon.
“You never have to go far to take a great photograph in North Wales and this book will help guide you to the best locations and hopefully discover some of your own.
“North Wales has over 250 miles of coast looking out into the Irish sea and filled with castles such Conwy Castle.”
North Wales is famous for its hills and waterfalls, in particular the natural scenery that is Snowdonia which is well-known for the quarrying of slate.
The book also features guides on how to get to each location as well as suggestions on the viewpoints photographers should capture.
“The heart of North Wales is the Snowdonia National Park, home to Wales’ highest mountain,” said Simon.
“North East Wales is a less well photographer location than other areas of North Wales.
“Snowdonia has been marked by the quarrying of slate.”
