HILARIOUS images from a new book reveal flying cats taken by a photographer by dropping them and snapping them as they fall to earth.
Striking photographs show a series of cats in flying in the air with one ginger cat who has a menacing look in its eyes, while a fluffy white cat looks startled.
Other images reveal the majestic silhouette of one cat sitting with its chest puffed out and another sphinx cat flying in action.
The images were taken by dropping the cats from a small height and shooting them from below just before they landed on a foam mat, to prevent injury.
The fascinating shots were taken by German photographer, Julia Christe, and has been compiled into a book called Flying Cats which is published by Knesebeck.
“I enjoy this particular work, especially when they express joy and happiness. Sometimes it’s also just downright funny,” Julia said.
Julia has received nothing but a positive response to her book.
“Some people thought we had used a trampoline or thrown the cats from from a great height or even tortured them somehow. None of that is true! The cats are dropped from a very small height onto a foam mat. There is a making of the film which shows the photoshoot,” she said.
Flying Cats is published by Knesebeck for £13.51 and is available here: https://www.knesebeck-verlag.de/flying_cats/t-1/719
