Protective mum with her cubs INDIA ENDEARING images of an adorable tiger family spending quality time with each other were captured in Jim Corbett National Park, India. Jim Corbett National Park is a 1,318 sq km forested wildlife sanctuary in northern India’s Uttarakhand State. Jim Corbett National Park, renowned for its rich population of Bengal Tigers, is home to the beloved tigress Parwali, a familiar name amongst the locals and wildlife enthusiasts. Parwali can be seen lying in the sun and watching her three six-month-old cubs as they explore the area and play-fight with each other. These precious moments were captured by Shailza Singhal, a wildlife photographer from India. “During an afternoon safari, we found the cubs near the roadside, cleverly concealed within the bushes,” she said. “The mother had made a kill earlier in the day, so the entire family, with full bellies, was relaxed and undisturbed by human presence. “As luck would have it, tigress emerged from cover in no time, crossing the road followed by her trail of cubs. “Every photographer aspires to capture animal behaviour, whether it's their interactions with other animals or their environment. It was truly fascinating to witness the cubs in their animated state. “In the process of developing essential life skills through playfulness to survive in the wild, they provided numerous satisfying photo opportunities. “Pictures like these offer us a glimpse into their world and deepen our connection to nature.” ENDs
