MEET the daydreamer who walked out of his job as an accountant to go and travel the world after spending days sat at his desk longing to go and trek around the planet.
Freelance photographer and social influencer, Quin Schrock, 28, from Temecula in California initially planned to go on a short road trip to satisfy his travelling urges but loved the lifestyle so much that he has never returned.
Through his stunning photography that he posts to 636k Instagram followers, Quin has been able to attract numerous brand partners who have helped him maintain his incredible lifestyle.
“I was an accountant who spent my days dreaming of adventure,” Quin recalled.
“Eventually, all the daydreaming convinced me that if I never got out and travelled I would regret it.
“I initially planned a six-month road trip to get the travel bug out of me, but it turns out that was just the beginning.
“Through photography and social media, I was able to gain a following and eventually attract some brands who wanted to work with me.”
Quin then touched on the formative years that galvanised his passion for the outdoors and adventure as well as how he got more than he ever imagined from his initial road trip.
“I grew up in a city in Southern California and spent most of my days surfing and skating,” he said.
“I then moved to Hawaii to attend college and it was here that I really fell in love with hiking and camping in nature.
“After quitting my job, whilst on my road trip I passed through Seattle where I met a girl called Jess who is now my girlfriend of two-and-a-half years and travels everywhere with me.”
Quin went on to talk about his travels in more detail, discussing the ups and downs of his lifestyle, where he has been and where he is yet to go.
“I’ve never found myself in dangerous situations, but I have got sick quite a bit, the toughest part for me is adapting to different food,” he said.
“So far, we’ve visited 21 different countries including much of the Americas and Asia, my favourite place by far is the Philippines but perhaps unlike a lot of travellers I really didn’t like Thailand.
“There’s still so much I want to do though, the place I’m really focusing on at the minute that I’d love to visit are New Zealand, China and Switzerland.
“I’d definitely recommend this lifestyle to anyone and to any budding photographers I’d encourage them to strive to capture different angles and get a unique style.
“Be consistent and most importantly make as many like minded friends as possible.”
