MEET the muscly body builder who has broken free from a repetitive circle of dieting and binge eating and has lost three-and-a-half-stone in three months and is certain he will never go off plan again.

Growing up, Daniel Gillis (20) from Prince George, British Columbia, Canada described himself as being average at best at everything. Aged 15, he was 15st 7lbs when he joined his school’s wrestling team and started going to the gym with friends, this saw him drop to 12st 1lb.

After finishing school, Daniel neglected his diet and exercise regime and saw the numbers on the scales creep back up, but he started to train for a bodybuilding competition after friends suggested it.

Pictures show Daniel at the competition in October 2016 but after he gave in to his cravings and was soon at 15st 3lb. At Christmas, he took radical action after people started to comment on his weight gain. Video footage shows Daniel at a toned 11 stone 4lbs practicing poses.

“Unfortunately, after the show I had a few cheat days to try and get rid of my junk food cravings,” explained Daniel.
“Almost instantly I lost my body, I tried getting back my diet a few times but I felt like I had lost so much progress.

“I was going through a horrible cycle of dieting for a few days then full out binge eating, I kept training extremely hard but this could not balance the binge eating.
“A lot of people had notice my huge weight gain and would bring it up, this made me feel really embarrassed and guilty. I had lost all of my confidence, it was a real struggle.

“Finally, I decided enough is enough, I needed to compete again, I had Christmas dinner with my family and then the next day I started training again.”
Daniel says he is on a strict diet that is high in protein and fat.

“I’m on the Ketogenic diet, the keto diet is a high protein, high fat and little to no carb diet and is believed to burn fat faster than moderate carb diets,” he said.
“The foods included are lean meats, leafy greens, low saturated fat oils and almonds.

“This diet is a lot cleaner than any diet I have done before.”
Currently Daniel is working on the launch of his YouTube channel, SimplyBroBuilding to motivate others.

“The best advice I could give for starting your fitness journey is the sooner you start, the sooner you will achieve your goal, start slow,” he added.
“Do not fight yourself, do not fight the diet and cardio, forget about the negative things people say about cardio and dieting.”

“Right now, I am working on launching my own YouTube fitness channel called SimplyBroBuilding.

“My main goal for creating this channel is that if I can help motivate and inspire others it will in return motivate me to become the best possible Bodybuilder I can be and hopefully never gain the weight back.”
