MEET THE GLAM GRAN who after having a ā€˜granny makeoverā€™ says she feels YOUNGER in her FORTIES than she did in her TWENTIES after dropping THREE DRESS SIZES thanks to liposuction and a tummy tuck – and admits she is always getting mistaken for her grandchildrenā€™s mum and loves flaunting her figure in CROP TOPS.

Ward clerk, Becky Stone (41), who lives in Devon, UK, lived a ā€˜lazyā€™ life of no exercise and indulging in processed food while growing up. In 2010, her tummy was left saggy at a peak weight of 14st 8Ib and UK size 18 after three pregnancies and a hysterectomy which made her feel insecure. So, she began yo-yo dieting; losing and gaining 3st, unable to stick to a routine.

It wasnā€™t until August 2017 that she booked an appointment with a cosmetic surgeon who recommended a mini tummy tuck and liposuction, which she had in November 2017. Once the sag in her tummy was gone, she was motivated to stick to a healthy routine, so she changed her diet and began doing 30-minute home workouts four times a week.

Her new lifestyle helped her shrink to 11st 2Ib and UK size 12 and she began to love the person that looked back at her in the mirror. While before she would cover her body with baggy clothes, she now takes every opportunity to wear stylish clothes including crop tops and feels younger now than she did when she was in her 20s.

Being a mother of three and a grandmother to four; Lexie (6), Noah (3), Lilah (2) and Isabella (four months), she has been constantly mistaken for her grandchildrenā€™s mother and she says that while her and her husband, Darren (42), have always had an active sex life, their relationship is better now that sheā€™s more confident.

ā€œAs I was growing up, I have been lazy; I had no self-confidence, low self-esteem and no self-acceptance,ā€ Becky said.

ā€œI wanted to lose weight for me and at my heaviest in 2010 I was over fourteen stone, so I got stuck into dieting and over nine months I lost three stone which I maintained until 2016 then I crept up to thirteen stone five pounds.

ā€œOver time I tried fasting diets, shakes, pills, slimming world which worked for a while and I lost around a stone but I still felt very self-conscious and hated what I saw in the mirror.

ā€œIt was the overhang on my tummy, over the years I have had to have around fourteen surgeries for ā€˜womenā€™s problemsā€™ including a hysterectomy at thirty-two in 2008, this along with three pregnancies left no muscles in my tummy.

ā€œI work with a very lovely cosmetic surgeon called David Oliver and I spoke with him in August 2017 and he advised a mini tummy tuck with lipo, which I had in November 2017.

ā€œI loved the fact my sag had gone. I gave up fad diets, stuck to a healthy lifestyle and home workouts then a year post op I was eleven stone two pounds.

ā€œI felt great in all the clothes I wore. I began wearing crop tops for the first time ever in 2018 and I actually liked what I saw in the mirror.

ā€œI feel younger now than I did in my twenties; Iā€™m more aware of things, I have more energy and I take more care of myself.

ā€œWhen Iā€™m out with my grandchildren people always say I must be a proud mum and whenever I correct them saying Iā€™m their nana, they look astounded and think Iā€™m lying.ā€

Beckyā€™s previous mealtimes included either toast or cereal for breakfast, ready-made sandwiches, crisps or a large steak bake for lunch, and processed microwave meals with crisps for dinner while snacking on a large bar of chocolate with fizzy drinks.

Now she has adjusted her diet to a slice of wholemeal toast with two eggs for breakfast, a wholemeal wrap or pitta with a chicken salad for lunch and steak or chicken with sweet potato, rice or vegetables for dinner. She now drinks lots of water and snacks on two caramel snack a jacks with peanut butter and a banana.

Becky doesnā€™t go to the gym, instead she works out four times a week using at-home workouts and walks her dog every day.

ā€œI eat healthy now and snack less and Iā€™m also more active. I feel more confident and Iā€™m learning to love myself and who I am,ā€ she said.

ā€œI have regular micro needling, derma planning and the odd filler. I like to look and feel good and I can wear better clothes now whereas in my twenties Iā€™d cover up.

ā€œMy husband loves me for who am I whatever my size but loves the new me more than the old me as Iā€™m happier and bubblier. We have more weekends away and holidays as Iā€™m more confident and not hiding away.

ā€œWe have always had an active sex life but itā€™s much better now I feel happier and confident in myself thereā€™s no covering my tummy up and lights off.

ā€œPeople say I look too young to be a nan and ask about my age, which makes me feel good. My daughter calls me the Glam Ma.

ā€œDonā€™t expect a quick fix, set mini goals do it sensibly and stay away from things like pills and skinny teas and coffee. Also start getting active slowly and build up, walking is fantastic I could walk forever.

ā€œKeeping photos of my progress really helps me as it makes me realise how far I have come. My aim is to be happy in myself at last; the hardest thing to do is to learn to love yourself but I will do it.ā€
