Other striking shots show the spacious living rooms, cosy bedrooms and large kitchen while all the interior pictures feature a hidden jar of marmite. Harperrig House is located in Kirknewton, West Lothian and is currently listed by Savills for ÂŁ775k.

Current owner Lucy Strachan was feeling tearful about their impending move when Savills photographer Sean Begley arrived to take photographs for the brochure.

Over a cup of coffee Sean and Lucy discovered they had something in common: a love of Marmite. Lucy has an extensive collection of Marmite pots in all shapes, sizes and designs, acquired over the years. On the couple’s 25th wedding

anniversary, John even gave his wife an engraved silver Marmite top. To cheer Lucy up Sean hid a pot of Marmite in each of the interior photographs, challenging her to find them.

“Moving from Harperigg is going to be really hard as we have had 24 incredible years here,” said Lucy.

“It all hit me just before Sean arrived and he was brilliant. He wouldn’t let me in until he had hidden each pot of Marmite and made me find them – he turned something which could have been really awful into a fun afternoon. I think the brochure looks great, and seeing the tiny little pots hidden in various nooks and crannies makes me smile.”

“Mrs Stachan was clearly emotional about selling their family home and I just wanted to put her at ease,” added Savills photographer, Sean Begley.

“Once I learned of the Marmite collection, I thought it would be fun to try a ‘Where’s Wally?’ style game with the Marmite to help her through the process. She cheered up immediately and seemed to relax and I think it helped her get through the process. I did the photographs just before Easter so deploying my hiding skills right before the Easter break proved good practice for our own family Easter egg hunt.”
