DOCTORS were left baffled after discovering several spoons and a knife among other items inside a patient’s intestine.
The contents were found after the unidentified patient was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College in Mandi district, India after he complained of severe abdominal pain.
Doctors performed an X-ray and found some rather unusual items inside the patient’s intestine and decided to operate.
During the procedure, doctors removed seven small steel spoons, two tooth brushes, two small screwdrivers, a small knife and a small rod.
The operation was conducted by a joint team of Doctor Suraj and Doctor Nikhil, who deemed the patient mentally imbalanced.
Doctors have expressed their shock while pondering how the patient was alive after swallowing a knife. The patient is said to be in a critical condition and is still in an intensive care unit (ICU).
Doctors said they are hopeful of a full recovery of the patient.
