INCREDIBLE images have revealed some of the most stunning properties that went on the market in the UK during 2018.
The striking pictures show an amazing six-bed superhome with huge windows, a spectacular coastal view and an infinity pool for ultimate relaxation. Possibly the best home to go on sale this year, it was listed by HSOwen with offers in the region of £3m welcomed. The property is situated in the highly exclusive Hopes Nose area of Ilsham, Torquay on an elevated position above Meadfoot beach allowing for a short stroll to enjoy the delights of Ilsham and the surroundings.
Another contender for the best home in the UK was an amazing five-bed detached house in Restronguet Point, Feock, Nr. Truro, South Cornwall which was listed by www.lillicrapchilcott.com for £3.75m.
Castles were also in high demand with the beautiful Ackergill Tower in Ackergill, Wick, Scotland listed by Knight Frank for £3.9m. This 32-bed, 15th century castle is believed to be where Oliver Cromwell garrisoned his troops. It also contains the largest treehouse in Europe on its 30-acre grounds.
If that doesn’t tickle your fancy how about a 19th century castle in Northern Ireland where you could claim the iron throne after hit TV show Game of Thrones was filmed there. The 15-bed property located in Markethill would cost you less than a king’s ransom as well after being listed by Maison NI for just £500k.
Moving away from castles, a 15th century Grade II listed Manor House went on sale at a bargain price of just £2.75m after dropping by nearly £1m in just ten years. Claverdon Hall’s roots go all the way back to Saxon times, pre-Conquest, though the earliest fabric of the existing hall would be 400 years or so later. A Claverdon Hall is recorded in 1485 though it is possible that its origins were even older than that. The house is situated close to the sought after village of Claverdon in the West Midlands and has been listed by estate agents Knight Frank.
Another stunning manor house from the 14th century also went on sale this year with offers in excess of £1.5m welcomed. Basill Manor, listed by Carter Jonas, is located in St Clether, Launceston, Cornwall and its original owners received a coat of arms for services during the Crusades.
If sport is more your thing then a spectacular eight-bed country house went on sale for just £1.25m. The 6.5-acre retreat would be perfect for the sporting enthusiast. Listed by Galbraith, Culfoichbeg is located in Tulchan, Advie, Grantown-on-Spey.
