Afterward, take your time strolling through the historical city squares and get a bite to eat at one of the delicious local restaurants.

Next head north to visit the Aeolian Islands, about 35 miles north of Sicily. These islands are a chain of land formed by a volcano many years ago and provide crystal clear waters and gorgeous landscapes. There are also two active volcanoes in this area, Stromboli and Vulcano, and guests to this area can visit a hot spring or volcanic mud bath during the day and watch Stromboli spit out lava at night.

  1. Tortola, British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands are a popular location for chartering a yacht. They even claim that they have more yachts to hire than anywhere else in the world, and with that in mind then this must be one of the best yachting destinations for your vacation.

The island waters are crystal clear and provide excellent conditions for snorkeling or scuba diving. The landscape is gorgeous and offers wonderful white sand beaches for you and your family to spend the day at.

While onshore, be sure to visit one of the many local restaurants and enjoy the fresh seafood options and Caribbean cuisine.

If crowds aren’t your thing, sail further down and visit one of the more peaceful towns of Port Cros or Porquerolles. Here you can take it easy and spend a relaxing day on the beach.

This area is also full of historical locations and architecture for you to see while you are not enjoying the water.
