The stunning shots show Brooke Ellingtone giving birth at her home while Ranger the Corgi sits by her side offering licks of encouragement.

Other striking pictures show Ranger meeting his new human pal, lying with another child and Brooke and her husband Steve looking lovingly at their new daughter Berkeley.

The heart-warming photographs were taken at Brooke’s home in Midland, Texas, USA by birth photographer Kristin Waner (29).

“You saw the connection and bond between Ranger and Brooke,” said Kristin.

“He watched her through the whole process and only went to give her kisses when he knew the time was right.

“When Brooke’s beautiful baby girl, Berkeley came into the world, Ranger jumped up and ran straight over to meet his little sister.

“He was loving and gentle with her. Brooke herself is also a doula and it was amazing for her to see the photos afterwards of sweet little Ranger in nearly every shot.

“These photos turned out even more amazing than I first thought because you are able to see the process of birth through the eyes of a dog. He is just too sweet.”

This was Brooke’s third birth and Kristin had photographed the family before. During her first birth, her other Corgi, Ryder was there to witness the birth of his brother. Ryder wasn’t present for Brooke’s third home-birth, but his brother Ranger was up to the job.

He met Kristin at the front door when she arrived, then headed straight back to the bedroom to be Brooke as she laboured on the bed.

According to Kristin he was a calming presence for Brooke, quietly sitting by and watching and every now and then, he would jump on the bed to give her a reassuring kiss.

When Brooke moved to the birthing tub, Ranger patiently sat on the couch watching, but would still come and give her a kiss every now and then to let her know he was there. The birth was intense and Brooke also had the support and love from her husband, Steve and her doula, Jenny.
