A BULLY frog has been snapped get too close to comfort to this prickly bug who has thrown its arms up in alarm.
Looking visibly shocked, this Dragon-headed katydid clearly did not enjoy this invasion by the oblivious amphibian. The not-so-friendly frog proceeded to clamber up and over the hapless insect and can be seen pushing down on the creepy-crawly’s head.
To add to his fun, the froggy even looks as though it was riding the multi-limbed creature like a pony, before disembarking and getting on with its day.
Amateur photographer Tanto Yensen (36) snapped this unlikely encounter in his hometown of Jakarta, Indonesia.
“I love this type photography because I get to witness the behaviour and interactions between all kinds of creatures,” said Tanto.
“I was patiently waiting with my camera and then saw these two together.
“Luckily I was able to capture this funny moment.”
Dragon-headed katydids can be found in the primordial forests of south-east Asia and Indonesia.
They are omnivores known to eat other insects as well as fruit and vegetables.
They can measure three inches in length and are noted for having heavy spines along their thorax.
“When people see these shots they think they are amazing,” said Tanto.
“You don’t get to see this kind of thing every day.”
