Meet the recently-qualified handsome male nurse gracing the hospital wards of the States with his heart-fluttering presence.
Jake Grez (25) from Chicago, Illinois documents his glamorous lifestyle of nursing, gym-ing and travelling on his Instagram page which has over thirty-thousand followers. He may be hunky and popular, but Jake hasn’t sought out fame. He was inspired to become a nurse after his mum was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2005 and had to undergo various rounds of treatment.
“Throughout this time it was her nurses who really maintained her independence, spirituality and well-being,” said Jake.
“They stuck by her side and inspired me to go into nursing.
“I post images that convey the happiest times of my life, from accomplishing nursing school and passing [exams] to travelling.”
In his snaps he can be seen showcasing a muscular physique with two parrots in the Dominican Republic or relaxing by the pool in Texas, while other shots document his day-to-day life in scrubs at the hospital.
With a busy schedule and thirteen-hour shifts Jake still finds the time to hit the gym, working out for two-hours a day up to five days a week.
“Working out regularly ensures that I can help lift my patients out of bed when helping them to the chair or bathroom, or when rotating their position.
“Exercising ensures I am not straining or hurting myself on the job.”
His Instagram became a useful tool to help him grieve when sadly Jake’s mum passed away last year.
“When my mum passed away I dedicated several posts to her and the outpour and support from people all over the world really meant a lot to me.
“It’s crazy how one silly app can connect you to so many people who have experienced or are experiencing the same thing you are.”
Jake hopes his Instagram posts put people in a positive mood.
“I always aim for a positive message whether it be a funny caption or a motivational one,” he added.
“My hope is that people can take a look at my content and feel happy.”
