Epic Helicopter Landing

NERVOUS fliers might want to look away now as a helicopter gets blown around by a strong gale whilst its pilot tries to land on a ship.

Incredible footage has captured a helicopter landing on a moving ship in the middle of the sea as a gale-force wind does its best to blow it off course.

The thrilling video shows the view from inside the cockpit as the brave pilot tries to navigate his way towards the moving landing zone.

Other parts of the video are taken from a camera on board the ship and show the chopper struggling to touch down as the wind repeatedly forces the pilot to pull back up.

The footage shows Danish and Australian test pilots landing on a Danish patrol vessel during a test of their newly acquired Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk.

The training exercise took place in the North Atlantic near the Faroe Islands and was originally posted to the Danish Defence Facebook page.

The training aimed to find the limitations of when it is safe to land on patrol vessels.
